Engineering Hope
Dr. Chad Tuchek's path to neurosurgery was forged in personal resilience. Initially pursuing an engineering degree at Purdue University, his trajectory shifted at age 26 when he was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. That experience transformed him from a future engineer into a physician driven by empathy and a deep understanding of the patient experience.
Today, he combines that engineering mindset—precision, structural analysis, and problem-solving—with the compassionate care of a cancer survivor. He specializes in neurosurgical oncology and complex spine disorders, utilizing advanced robotic and minimally invasive techniques to treat conditions that felt insurmountable.
Currently seeking to improve lives at Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, Kansas, Dr. Tuchek believes that surgery is not just about removing a tumor or fixing a disc; it's about restoring the person behind the diagnosis.
